The main difference between VFS and Indian Embassy/ Consulate is that the consulate is to help Indians/ OCIs/ PIOs in the host country and design a structured pattern of services to be followed. VFS carries out and manages the tasks that the Indian Government gives to them.
You can visit a visa application center of VFS and submit your visa application on an urgent basis. In such a case VFS Global will process your visa application without a prior appointment.
