Brazil Visa for Indians: Application & Documents Required

Brazilian culture today is a result of the coming together of indigenous Indians, Africans and the Portuguese. The language, main religion and customs are largely of Portuguese influence. Soccer is a major obsession in this country and is followed with great spirit. Today we are going to be talking about the application process and the documents required in order to apply for a Brazil visa for Indians.

Brazil Visa Application Online

1) Fill out the Brazil visa application online and upload into the application all the necessary supporting documents for the visa type for which you are applying

2) Pay the corresponding visa processing fee (fees and method of payment)

3) Send an e-mail to [email protected] to schedule an appointment to present the original documentation and apply

The e-mail must have the following subject:

( type of visa) – RER number (xxxxxx-xxxxxx) – name of applicant –  valid Skype ID 

The original documents must be shown by the applicant/agent at the Consular Sector, on the given date and time, in addition to the RER and proof of payment. The Embassy may request additional information/documentation or an interview (at the Embassy or via Skype) with the applicant if considered necessary. 

If the documents are shown by an agent, an original Aadhaar card and authority letter signed by the applicant are required. 

General Documents Required for a Brazil Visa for Indians (Detailed list for each type of visa given below)

1) Online visa application form 

2) Passport original and copy (signed, valid up to the end of the trip to Brazil, at least 2 blank pages)

3) Proof of financial capability (including, but not limited to, bank statements of the past three months, signed by the branch manager, with his/her signature attested by a notary public)

4) Passport-style photo compliant with ICAO requirements taken in the last 6 months 

5) Flight tickets (purchased ticket showing entrance into and exit from Brazil)

6) Payment of applicable consular fees by deposit/bank transfer. Deposits/transfers that do not show the applicant’s name in the Consulate’s account will be disregarded and will not be refunded

7) Personal cover letter with relevant information about the applicant and the intended trip

8) Proof of stay (hotel reservation)

9) Invitation letter (the signature must be attested by a notary public) and authenticated copy of photo ID of the inviting person

10) Proof of address (such as utility bills) for the past 12 months. If the applicant is a minor, the document can be in the name of a parent

Please note that the completion of the Visa Application Form online does not constitute submission of the visa application to the Embassy. The visa application will only be processed once the Online Confirmation Page (RER) along with the other documents required depending on the type of the visa applied for are duly and brought to the Embassy of Brazil by the interested party or their representative.

Brazil Visa Requirements

1. Visitor Visa (Vivis) – Documents Required

1. Original passport, valid for at least six months from the intended date of arrival in Brazil. The passport must be signed and have at least 2 blank visa pages.  (Please note: soiled, damaged or defaced passports will not be accepted. Obtain a new passport if your current one does not meet such criteria.)

2. Old passport, if available.

3. One recent photo, size 4cm x 5cm, in color, front view on a white background.

4. Demand Draft valid for 3 months

5. Proof of an employment contract/work in India. If the applicant is a student, proof of work should be replaced by proof of school or university enrollment and attendance. If the applicant is retired, they must provide proof of retirement and/or pension payment slip. Simple copies or computer scans of such documents will not be accepted.

6. Print out of hotel reservation in Brazil. When visiting relatives/ friends who reside in Brazil, present a notarized invitation letter from a Brazilian citizen, or foreigner with residence permit in Brazil, confirming the responsibility for housing and related expenses during the guest’s stay in Brazil.

7. Proof of financial status and/or means of support during the applicant’s stay in Brazil. Bank and/or credit card statements for the last three months and evidence of applicant’s employment and leave. Bank statements need to be stamped and signed by the branch manager (manager id required on the stamp). Simple copies or computer scans of such documents will not be accepted.

8. Print out an itinerary of a confirmed round trip ticket.

9. Special requirements for minors:

  • Presentation of the original birth certificate or a notarized copy. Copies presented without the original birth certificate must be legalized by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Government of India.
  • Letter of Consent authorizing the visa to be issued to a minor traveling alone, with only one parent or with a third party, signed by both parents or legal guardians (in which case legal proof of guardianship is required) before a public notary. If the applicant is a student/ a minor: the proof of means of support during the applicants stay in Brazil must be presented by his/her parents. If the minor is traveling with both parents, the letter can be waived.

10. If applicant intends to take part in athletic competitions, performing arts events, conferences or seminars: an original letter from sponsor/organizer, with signature duly notarized in Brazil (“autenticada em cartório”), providing specific information about the activity to be performed and location and duration of the activity/event. The letter must state that the participant will not receive any payment and that no tickets will be sold for the event.

11. If applicant is a permanent resident but has an expired Brazilian ID card for Foreign Citizens (RNE); and a) is over the age of 60 years or b) is a person with special needs, they must provide a copy of the expired Brazilian ID card for foreign citizens (RNE).

12. If applicant is the bearer of a permanent or temporary visa and has requested an extension of the visa or its conversion to a permanent visa, they must present a notarized copy of the protocol issued by the Federal police of Brazil, by the Ministry of Justice of Brazil or by the National Council of Immigration (“Conselho Nacional de Imigração”).

13. If the applicant is a minor that is being adopted by a Brazilian national, they must provide a notarized copy of the judicial decision on the adoption and/or any other proof of the adoption process. Additionally, provide notarized copy of legal decision or notarized written authorization of both parents or guardians if the minor is traveling unaccompanied to Brazil or in the company of only one of the parents or guardians.

2.Visitor Visa (Vivis) – Business – Documents Required

1. Original passport, valid for at least six months after the intended arrival to Brazil. The passport must be signed and have at least 2 blank visa pages.  (Please note: soiled, damaged or defaced passports will not be accepted. Obtain a new passport if your current one does not meet such criteria.)

2. Old passport, whenever available.

3. One recent photo, size 4cm x 5cm, in color, front view on a white background.

4. Original dispatch letter from the applicant’s employer, addressed to the consular service of the Embassy of India in New Delhi, including the following information:

  • The employee’s name and title.
  • Time of service for the company.
  • Monthly salary paid by the company to the applicant.
  • Contact person in Brazil.
  • Description of the business activities to be performed in a very clear, specific and detailed manner (generic descriptions might lead to delays and require the applicant to provide additional information and/or to appear for an interview at the Embassy).
  • Intended duration of the stay.
  • Statement that the company shall assume full responsibility for the applicant while in Brazil and that the applicant will not exceed the legally authorized stay per visit.
  • Statement that the company will bear all the costs with the trip.
  • Signature and stamp by a senior manager.

5. One page invitation letter (original with signature notarized in Brazil – “autenticada em cartório”) in Portuguese from a Brazilian company addressed to the consular service Embassy of Brazil in New Delhi, including the following information:

  • The name and the position that the applicant holds in the company.
  • Clear, specific and detailed purpose of the trip and business activities which will be performed in Brazil.
  • Stamp the CNPJ number (tax registration code), address and telephone number of the Brazilian company.

 6. Print out of itinerary of a confirmed round trip ticket with the hotel reservation

  7. Applicants intending to take part in the production/ filming of commercial or advertisement videos or motion pictures, with or without sound, in addition to the requirements listed above must submit a permit from the Ministry of Culture of Brazil Agência Nacional de Cinema (ANCINE – http://sif.ancine.gov.br/sig/empresascadastradas.jsp). This is to be obtained by the interested party’s agent/representative in Brazil (Brazilian partner or co-producer) prior to the visa application.

8. If the applicant is self-employed:

  • bank letter stating his/her financial references; and
  • notarized Copy of the company’s registration.
  • in case of professional trader or investor, provide notarized brokerage notes for the last 6 (six) months.

3. Work Visa (Vitem V) – Documents Required

All work visa applications must be submitted in Brazil by a Brazilian company. The embassy will only issue visas pre-approved by the ministry of labor.

1. Original passport, valid for at least six months after the intended arrival to Brazil. The passport must be signed and have at least 2 blank visa pages.  (Please note: soiled, damaged or defaced passports will not be accepted. Obtain a new passport if your current one does not meet such criteria.)

2. Old passport, whenever available.

3. One recent photo, size 4cm x 5cm, in color, front view on a white background.

4. Apostilled non-criminal certificate issued by applicant’s local Police Station within the past 90 days OR issued by MEA/CPV (in which case certificate does not need to be apostilled).

5. Letter from company/organization with the labour approval process number and applicants passport details.

[Dependents of crew members need a letter from the ship captain signed, inviting and authorizing them to be on the ship]

4. Family Reunion/Dependent Visa (Vitem XI) – Documents Required

1. Original passport, valid for at least six months after the intended arrival to Brazil. The passport must be signed and have at least 2 blank visa pages. (Please note: soiled, damaged or defaced passports will not be accepted. Obtain a new passport if your current one does not meet this criteria).

2. Old passport, if available

3. One recent photo, size 4cm x 5cm, in color, front view on a white background.

4. Legalized proof of residence within the jurisdiction of the consular section of the embassy for the past 12 months.

5. Apostilled non-criminal certificate issued by applicant’s local Police Station within the past 90 days OR issued by MEA/CPV (in which case certificate does not need to be apostilled).

6. Special requirements for minors:

  • Presentation of the original birth certificate or a notarized copy of it. Copies presented without the original birth certificate must be legalized by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Government of India.
  • Presentation of an authorization for Brazilian visa issuance for minors signed by both parents or legal guardians (in which case legal proof of guardianship is required) at a public notary.
  • If the applicant is a student/ a minor: the proof of means of support during the applicants stay in Brazil must be presented by his/her parents.

7.  Statement signed by the inviting party at a Brazilian Notary Public (“Tabelião/Cartório”), a consular section of the embassy, stating that the inviting party will be financially responsible for the applicant, including cost of living, healthcare and expenses with the return to the country of nationality of the foreigner

8. If the sponsor/inviting family member is already in Brazil or is a Brazilian national:

  • Notarized copy of a valid Brazilian Identity Card or Foreign National Identity Card (RNE);
  • Copy of his/her passport, including the Brazilian visa and the stamp of the first entry to Brazil (if applicable).

9. Legalized or notarized proof of the relationship with the Brazilian national or a foreign temporary or permanent resident (birth certificate, marriage certificate, judicial decision, etc.)

10. Statement signed by the person calling certifying that he/she lives or intends to live in Brazil.

11. Joint statement signed by both parties, under law, confirming the continuity of effective union and coexistence.

The following documents are required according to the applicant’s situation:

Family members of an individual (“sponsor”) who has obtained a temporary visa to Brazil:

A) Proof of financial capacity of the sponsor

B) If the sponsor has applied separately for their visa:

  • Copy of their Brazilian visa
  • Copy of their passport page with the stamp of the first entry to Brazil (if applicable)

Descendants (sons, daughters, stepson, stepdaughter, or minor under the custody of the Brazilian or Foreign Temporary or Permanent Resident) over the age of 18 years or brother/sister, grandsons/granddaughters, great-grandson/great-granddaughter

A) Judicial decision or statement by competent authority in the country of nationality of the applicant stating the financial dependency of the applicant with regards to the sponsor family member.

Descendants or ascendants (parents, grandparents, etc.) under the care of the Brazilian national or foreign temporary or permanent resident

A) Proof of dependency of the applicant with regards to the Brazilian national or foreign temporary or permanent resident (such as the lack of any other family members, need of medical care stated by a physician, or lack of personal income, etc.)

Spouse of a Brazilian national or foreign temporary or permanent resident, regardless of gender/sex.

A) Marriage certificate

Civil-union or life partner of a Brazilian national or Foreign Temporary or Permanent Resident, regardless of gender/sex.

A) Civil union or partnership certificate issued by competent authorities in Brazil or the country of origin of the applicant or

B) Proof of civil union issued by competent judge in Brazil or equivalent abroad or

C) Certificate or similar document issued by national civil registry or equivalent foreign authority and – Statement by two individuals attesting the existence of the civil union or life partnership and at least one of the following documents:

  • Proof of dependency issued by tax authorities or institution equivalent to the Brazilian Tax Revenue Service (Receita Federal).
  • Religious marriage certificate (at least one year of existence).
  • A will/testament registered with a Brazilian notary public or competent authority abroad with proof of the relationship.
  • Insurance or health care policy in which the names of both individuals are mentioned as beneficiaries or holder of the policy.
  • Deed of property of real estate or rental agreement in the name of both individuals of the couple.
  • Joint banking account (at least one year of existence)
  • Birth certificate of the son/daughter of the couple

5. Cultural and Academic Visa (Vitem I) – Documents Required

1. Original passport, valid for at least six months after the intended arrival to Brazil. The passport must be signed and have at least 2 blank visa pages. (Please note: soiled, damaged or defaced passports will not be accepted. Obtain a new passport if your current one does not meet such criteria);

2. Old passport, whenever available;

3. One recent photo, size 4cm x 5cm, in color, front view, white background;

4. Legalized proof of residence within the jurisdiction of the Consular Section of the Embassy for the past 12 months;

5. Apostilled non-criminal certificate issued by applicant’s local Police Station within the past 90 days OR issued by MEA/CPV (in which case certificate does not need to be apostilled).;

6. Special requirements for minors:

  • Presentation of the original birth certificate or a notarized copy. Copies presented without the original birth certificate must be legalized by Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and
  • Presentation of an Authorization for Brazilian Visa Issuance for Minors, signed by both parents or legal guardians (in which case legal proof of guardianship is required) at a public notary. If the applicant is a student/ a minor: the proof of means of support during the applicants stay in Brazil must be presented by his/her parents.

For scientific and/or technological activities under an international cooperation program

(1) Copy of the international agreement;

(2) Proof of professional expertise;

(3) A letter from the sponsoring organization: – informing activities to be pursued by the applicant; – attesting its responsibility for repatriation of the applicant (and his/her family, if the case) once the visa expires or the agreement ceases to exist, and – stating that the applicant will not receive any payment from a Brazilian party (except if the applicant has received a scholarship from a Brazilian entity).

For professorial, research or scientific cooperation activities; or in order to participate in conferences or seminars receiving a “pro labore”:

(1) A letter from the Brazilian sponsoring organization stating the following: a) activities to be pursued; b) entity or person bearing the costs or expenses related to such activities, c) when required by law, a copy of the “Portaria” (ordinance) that authorizes such research activities; and d) in the case of participation in conferences and seminars, a letter declaring that the applicant will receive a pro labore with detail of value and conditions.

(2) prior authorization by the Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico (CNPq), if the trip involves the collection of biological and mineral material;

(3) prior authorization from the Fundação Nacional do Índio (FUNAI), if activities are to be performed in indigenous areas.

Exchange students taking part in programs developed by organizations dedicated to the promotion of student exchange programs (RN 49/00).

(1) A notarized letter from school, college or university in Brazil confirming student’s enrollment or acceptance, and informing the duration of studies. Information on the weekly amount of hours of classes and studies should also be provided. Notarization of the letter is not necessary if letter is issued by one of the federal universities of Brazil;

(2) Proof of financial status and/or means of support during the applicant’s stay in Brazil, including Bank and/or credit card statements for the last three months; and Evidence of applicant’s employment and leave;

(3) A notarized letter from the Brazilian organization sponsoring the exchange student program (e.g. Rotary and AFS), stating the student’s inclusion in the program, name and location (full address, including e-mail) of the educational institution, as well as names and qualification of its directors, and supplying names and address of responsible parties of “hosting family” in Brazil;

(4) Copy of the Brazilian exchange student program organization bylaws, and its tax registration code (Cadastro Nacional de Pessoa Jurídica – CNPJ).

Amateur athletic training programs for individuals above 14 and under 21 years of age (RN86/2010).

(1) Proof that the sponsoring entity (club) in Brazil is operating in a regular and lawful manner;

(2) Registry of sponsoring entity in Brazil with the training program of the Municipal Council for the Rights of the Child and Youth;

(3) Notarized copy of contract between the foreign entity to which the athlete is bound (ex: the athlete’s team/club in India) and the Brazilian sponsoring entity/institution responsible for the training, in which the Brazilian entity assures the following:

  • vacancy for the applicant/athlete in the training institution during the period that he/she will stay in Brazil, which can be up to twelve months and
  • maintenance and subsistence of the athlete during the period of training (room and board and additional living expenses), as well as travel expenses (round trip), stay and exit from national territory, compliance with the rights provided in Brazilian law, in particular the Child and Youth Act, the provision of medical, dental and hospital care, enrollment in a Brazilian school with supervision of school attendance, the observance to the right of the adolescent to family and community life, as well as full financial responsibility for the athlete/applicant during his/her stay in Brazil and for his/her departure from Brazil after the conclusion of intended activities.

(4) Notarized and legalized copy of the athlete’s birth certificate translated into Portuguese or English.

For technical training on the operation or maintenance of equipment or machines made in Brazil (RN 87/2010):

(1) A letter from the employer of the applicant, in company’s letterhead or stationary, stating that the applicant will not receive salary or payment of any kind by a Brazilian party.

(2) A letter from the Brazilian company where the training is to take place, in company’s letterhead or stationary, informing the nature of the training to be provided and stating that it will be held responsible for the applicant while in Brazil.

For community services and volunteering activities (RN 68/05):

(1) Proof of the applicant’s professional experience or qualification compatible with activities to be carried out in Brazil.

(2) Letter of invitation issued by a Brazilian sponsoring organization, with the following information:

  • conditions of the trip (payment of services, type of services to be provided, and locations where volunteering will be pursued);
  • guarantee of maintenance of volunteer in Brazil and repatriation of the applicant; c) assurances of payment of all hospital and medical expenses of applicant and his/her dependents during the stay in Brazil

(3) A notarized copy of the bylaws of the Brazilian sponsoring organization

(4) Minute of the meeting in which the organization’s directors were nominated, and proof that it is in existence

(5) Copy of the Brazilian sponsoring organization’s registration at the “Conselho de Assistência Social” or, whenever applicable, certificate qualifying as an organizations of public interest issued by the Brazilian Ministry of Justice.

For medical treatment in Brazil (RN 02/00 do CNIg):

(1) A letter from the applicant’s medical doctor recommending the treatment;

(2) Proof of financial means for treatment and stay in Brazil; or copy of a Brazilian or international health insurance valid for the treatment in Brazil; or service certificate indicated in international agreement to which Brazil is a party;

(3) Estimate of cost of treatment;

(4) Statement by the physician or hospital/clinic that treatment will not be funded by the Brazilian Public Health System ( “Sistema Único de Saúde – SUS”), except under the terms of an international agreement to which Brazil is a party.

6. Student Visa (Vitem IV) – Documents required

1. Original passport, valid for at least six months after the intended arrival to Brazil. The passport must be signed and have at least 2 blank visa pages.  (Please note: soiled, damaged or defaced passports will not be accepted. Obtain a new passport if your current one does not meet such criteria.)

2. Old passport, if available.

3. One recent photo, size 4cm x 5cm, in colour, front view, on a white background.

 4. Apostilled non-criminal certificate issued by applicant’s local Police Station within the past 90 days OR issued by MEA/CPV (in which case certificate does not need to be apostilled).

5. Proof of financial status and/or means of support during the applicant’s stay in Brazil:

  • Bank and/or credit card statements for the last three months; and
  • Evidence of applicant’s employment and leave.
  • If applicable, proof that the applicant has obtained a scholarship (in such a case, no other evidence of financial means needs to be presented).

6. Special requirements for minors:

  • Both parents to be present at the embassy to sign the application Form (mandatory)
  • Presentation of the original birth certificate or a notarized copy.
  • Copies presented without the original birth certificate must be legalized by Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Government of India
  • Presentation of an Authorization for Brazilian Visa Issuance for Minors, signed by both parents or legal guardians (in which case legal proof of guardianship is required) at a public notary. If the applicant is a student/ a minor: the proof of means of support during the applicant’s stay in Brazil must be presented by his/her parents.

7. Notarized proof of enrollment with a school/college/university certifying that applicant will be attending a course. Documents should clearly state the number of classes and hours of classes per week that the applicant is expected to attend (notarization of proof is waived if document is issued by a federal university in Brazil).

 8. Proof of other degrees.

Students attending undergraduate or graduate school, with or without a scholarship (RN 116/15)

  • Notarized high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proof of acceptance at an undergraduate or graduate school in Brazil (e.g. “vestibular” exam approval or equivalent)
  • Copy of the “edital do processo seletivo” with information on subjects under exam, minimum notes, proof of proficiency in Portuguese, as well as a statement that minimum notes have been obtained by the applicant.
  • Proof of enrollment with a Brazilian educational institution or statement of the existence of a reserved spot for the applicant by a Brazilian educational institution.

Post-Graduate studies, with or without a scholarship

  • Notarized Graduate School diploma or equivalent.
  • Notarized proof of enrollment in a Post-Graduate program with a Brazilian educational institution.
  • Student exchange program for graduate and post-graduate students ( “Sandwich Program”), with or without a scholarship
  • Consularized proof of attendance at a undergraduate, graduate or post-graduate course at a College, University or equivalent.
  • Notarized proof of enrollment in a Post-Graduate program with a Brazilian educational institution.
  • Post-Graduate studies or specialization in the medical field, with or without a scholarship
  • Consularized proof of graduation in a Medical, Nursing , Odontology or equivalent course.
  • Notarized proof of enrollment in a Post-Graduate program with a Brazilian educational institution or letter of invitation for specialization course by a Brazilian educational institution.
  • Statement by the legal representative of the course to be attended in Brazil stating that 1) applicant will not practice medical acts in Brazil, except those necessary for the training and only at the institution where the course will be held; 2) legal representative of the course bears full responsibility for the applicant before the competent Regional Council of professional category of the applicant.

Supervised Internship

Notarized proof of enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program with an educational institution.

  • For visas under 120 days, agreement signed between the applicant, the foreign educational institution and the company offering an internship (“Termo de Compromisso de Estágio”), stating the compatibility of the activities to be performed during the internship with the field of study of the applicant.
  • For visas over 120 days, agreement signed between the applicant, the Brazilian educational institution with which the student is enrolled and the company offering an internship (“Termo de Compromisso de Estágio”), stating the compatibility of the activities to be performed during the internship with the field of study of the applicant.

Religious student (RN 29/99)

Notarized proof of enrollment with a religious educational institution operating under Brazilian laws.

7. Professional Artists and Sportsmen Visa (Vitem XII) – Documents Required

Please note that a work permit from the Ministry of Labor and Social Security of Brazil (MTE) is required prior to the visa application. It is the responsibility of the sponsor, promoter or employer to make all the necessary arrangements related to the contract in Brazil.

1. Original passport, valid for at least six months after the intended arrival to Brazil. The passport must be signed and have at least 2 blank visa pages. (Please note: soiled, damaged or defaced passports will not be accepted. Obtain a new passport if your current one does not meet this criteria);

2. Old passport, whenever available;

3. One recent photo, size 4cm x 5cm, in color, front view and on a white background.

8. Missionary Work Visa (Vitem VII) – Documents Required

1. Original passport valid for at least six months after the intended arrival to Brazil. The passport must be signed and have at least 2 blank visa pages. (Please note: soiled, damaged or defaced passports will not be accepted. Obtain a new passport if your current one does not meet this criteria).

2. Old passport, whenever available.

3. One recent photo, size 4cm x 5cm, in color, front view and on a white background.

4. Legalized proof of residence within the jurisdiction of the Consular Section of the embassy for the past 12 months.

5. Apostilled non-criminal certificate issued by applicant’s local Police Station within the past 90 days OR issued by MEA/CPV (in which case certificate does not need to be apostilled).

6. Certified photocopy of the Brazilian religious institution’s minutes of incorporation (“ata de constituição”).

 7. Certified photocopy of document recognizing the legal authority of the religious order’s principal to act on behalf of the order (“comprovante de poderes de representação legal de seu dirigente”).

 8. Notarized letter by the Brazilian order stating full financial responsibility for the applicant and dependant’s expenses, cost of living and exit from Brazil (“compromisso da entidade no Brasil de manutenção e saída do religioso chamado do território nacional”).

 9. Curriculum vitae of the applicant (detailed resume of past activities).

 10. Ordination certificate and/or diploma and school transcript of religious studies.

 11. If applicable, a signed statement from the applicant pledging not to engage in any activity in indigenous areas without the proper authorization by FUNAI (National Indian Foundation).

9. Visitor Visa – Transit (VIVIS) – Documents Required

1. Original passport valid for at least six months after the intended arrival to Brazil. The passport must be signed and have at least 2 blank visa pages. (Please note: soiled, damaged or defaced passports will not be accepted. Obtain a new passport if your current one does not meet this criteria).

2. Old passport, if available.

3. One recent photo, size 4cm x 5cm, in color, front view and white background.

4. Proof of financial status and/or financial means. Bank and/or credit card statements for the last three months. Evidence of applicant’s employment and leave.

5. A ticket for the destination country.

6. Visa for the country of destination, if the applicant is required by this country to hold a visa.

7. Special requirements for minors:

  • Presentation of the original birth certificate or a notarized copy of it. Copies presented without the original birth certificate must be legalized by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Government of India.
  • Presentation of an authorization for Brazilian visa issuance for minors that has been signed by both parents or legal guardians (in which case legal proof of guardianship is required) at a public notary. If the applicant is a student/ a minor: the proof of means of support during the applicant’s stay in Brazil must be presented by his/her parents.
