Premature Withdrawal of NRE Deposits

  • If a premature withdrawal occurs within a year, no interest will be paid. 
  • In the case of premature encashment of term deposits, a penal interest of 1% will be charged. 
  • The interest paid will be 1% lower than the prevailing rate at the time of deposit placement, or the contractual rate, whichever is lower, for the duration that the deposit remains with the bank. 
  • No interest will be paid for premature withdrawals of deposits held for a duration shorter than the minimum accepted period for that currency and deposit type, as specified on the date of deposit placement.
