Interest on Premature Withdrawal of Term Deposits

  • In case of premature withdrawal of deposits, interest will be paid at the  rate applicable for the amount and period for which the deposit remained with the bank. For example, if you open an NRI FD for 5 years but decide to close it after one year, the interest will be applicable at the rate which was applicable for one year on the original date of deposit. 
  • Bank will charge a penalty of 1% on the applicable rate for deposits in RTD and RD closed prematurely.
