Himadri Speciality Chemical has announced India’s first commercial plant, in Odisha, for lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cathode active material, a key component of electric vehicle (EV) batteries, as it bets on the mobility sector. ANURAG CHOUDHARY, chairman &amp; managing director and chief executive officer of Himadri Speciality Chemical, spoke to Ishita Ayan Dutt about how the diversification would change the company and help its top line. The consortium of Himadri Specialty Chemicals and Dalmia Refractories which took Control of Birla Tyres from NCLT last month, will invest Rs 250 crore to operationalise the passenger car radial segment. Birla Tyres never had a presence in radials that constituted 100% of the passenger car tyres.

New Delhi, Himadri Speciality Chemical Limited (HSCL) on Saturday said it has posted a 168 per cent growth in net profit at Rs 65.21 crore for the December quarter on account of higher revenues. The company had clocked a net profit of Rs 24.30 crore in the October-December period of the preceding 2021-22 fiscal, HSCL said in a release.
